Advancing water and sustainable development

As part of the effort to continually upgrade and maintain aging pipeline networks in Soweto, Johannesburg Water is on the move to reduce water losses, and improve water conservation and demand management within the City.

This is quite a significant project that will benefit communities in more ways than one. Firstly, providing them with more reliable water service delivery and reducing revenue collections as a result of water loss.

Marley is proud to be a part of this project as a supplier to infrastructure services contractor, MIS Pipelines.

The Challenge

To complete a portion of the upgrade project, MIS Pipelines required quality PE100 SDR 17 HDPE pipe of various diameters (630mm, 700mm, 800mm and 900mm) to extend a new, 4km water pipeline from the reservoir to the Rand Water link in order to provide residents in the area with clean, good quality water. Marley delivered not only on cost savings for the project, but also on customer service and
technical foresight.

“The reason we use Marley is that their prices, as well as their service and quality is of a high standard.” – Andrew Ramsay, Contracts Manager, MIS Pipelines
