The Marley Pipe Systems brand is founded on an image of quality and credibility. Recognised throughout the world as the leading plastic pipe manufacturer, Marley continues to innovate new products for the Building as well as the Mining and Industrial sectors of sub-Saharan Africa.
Established in 1977 as part of the Marley SA group, Marley Pipe Systems quickly stepped up to become the market leader in the manufacture and distribution of plumbing products to the merchant trade. Continuing our long-held commitment to leading the way in plastic pipe solutions for Africa and beyond, Marley’s value offering quickly grew to accommodate additional markets and product lines, integrating advanced technologies to create end-to-end solutions that enable the development of sustainable pipeline infrastructures efficiently and safely.
In 2013, Marley gained even more ground in the industry through the acquisition of the assets of Petzetakis Africa, an investment that represented a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to build manufacturing capabilities to better serve our key market segments.
In the following year, Marley announced its split into two independent business units – Building and Mining & Industrial. This shift in Marley’s development came as part of our strategic growth strategy to strengthen our offering and drive product innovation in these core sectors, with a focus on polyethylene and PVC-U drainage pipe and fittings.
Marley’s Mining and Industrial facilities are based in Rosslyn, Gauteng while its Building operations are located in Nigel, Gauteng – which is supported by a wide distribution network encompassing multiple branches and depots around the country as well as offices in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana, and an active export division selling into Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe and Australia.
As an Aliaxis company, Marley is dedicated to contributing to the future of our country, as well as on a global level, to manufacture products that are environmentally-friendly and that are conducive to preserving our natural resources. Our facilities have direct access to world-leading technologies which are constantly innovating to focus on the sustainable design and life-cycle approach for each and every product that we manufacture. In this way, we are constantly living out our commitment to 'Bringing Tomorrow to Life'.
